What is your understanding of gender?

My understanding of gender is very simple, embedded in our minds since childhood, this division into male and female gender. As a person born in the Soviet era, I don’t really still perceive the fashionable division now into transgender people. This is a physiological gender division.

In my understanding, there are very developing gender divisions in modern society and, accordingly, inequalities in the field of psychological, social and cultural differences.

What is your understanding of gender inequality?

Gender inequality for me basically lies in the physiological and intellectual differences between men and women which lead to certain inequalities in social life. Although, in my opinion, this inequality is more and more being “washed out” of social life every year, changes in the lives of women are especially noticeable, which nowadays can afford much more male professions and occupations than it was 30 years ago back. Here you can mention the active movements of feminists, all leading an invisible battle with these gender inequalities.
