What is your understanding of gender?
Gender for me is the specific nomination to show the difference between physical adventages and disadvantages between us in our society, so female and male.
In my personal perspective it is just to identify female and male groups in our society based on our physical difference.
What is your understanding of gender inequality?
I think gender inequality is when you are treated just because you are male or female. You get more power just because you are male. Male can overpower you just because you are female even though they are in the same environment and in the same position as them.
This is gender inequality when we cannot do the same things just because we are female.
Even though we are capable of doing it, gender inequality is basically being treated.
What is your personal opinion about gender non-binary?
It is quite complicated for me. I am not used to gender non-binary so I will guess:
Non-binary is when the person has no gender at all, if I am not mistaking. I am not sure.
I don´t hear much about it in social media, television or the news. I have seen people who don´t identify as male or female.
What is your understanding of intersectionality?
I am not sure again what intersectionality actually is. In my understanding intersectionally is a theory to understand how discrimination works in a society to try to figure how to fix it.
Regardless the gender, the rac, the age, everything, the colour of the skin inside the group.
Can you name any significant inequalities in your country?
Here in Brazil there are some visible inequalities in our country. It is built inside our culture.
There is even discrimination a bit about either you are from the South or from the North of the country. When you are from the South you are getting paid more than when you are from the North. That is not right. Gender inequality is a huge topic. In Brazil it is such a big deal, men are getting paid more than women here. They get better positions and they overpower women; it is very complicated in Brazil. Most of women fight against it, unitying and are going to the streets. They are fighting for the equality of gender, but it is still very strong in our culture. We say machoism culture, like macho. I think these two are the big inequalities.
What are the three most important factors for gender inclusive society?
This is a tricky question: It think that one of the most important factors to put it inside the brains even of the kids. Once they grow up in a culture that values the mothers, that values the mothers as much as the fathers. They can do the same job, they can do whatever they want, in any case. I think that we have to raise our kids to understand gender equality.
Another factor is that we should give more opportunities, as well in big companies as in small companies. Because the majority of the population is not rich, they are poor.
Poor people work more in “low jobs” and in the basic jobs there is the most gender inequality ever. Where the boys rule against the girls. As an example: Cleaner. Most of the cleaners are women they do not actually hire men. I think that we should open more positions for both genders in every company, in every job, from the basic to the Top10 jobs.
One more thing is that social media should show more respect for both genders.
Influencer should be part of this change for a better society.
